There is a way to measure the quality of a producer that goes beyond awards and certifications: look at who chooses you when they need the best. In 2024, Christian Dior chose Moranduzzo.
The job order worth more than a thousand advertising campaigns

Christian Dior star tip – Argenplast production Moranduzzo group. 24-carat gold plating, ultra-light galvanized resin. Made in Italy.
In 2024, Maison Christian Dior contacted Argenplast S.r.l. – the Moranduzzo Group’s manufacturing workshop based in Barberino Tavarnelle, in the heart of the Florentine Chianti region-to commission an exclusive collection of Christmas decorations. There are two pieces: a star finial and a miniature reproduction of the facade of the Dior building at 30 Avenue Montaigne, Paris.
The brief is what you would expect from a luxury fashion house: absolute quality, no compromise on materials, impeccable packaging. Dior is not looking for a generic supplier. He looks for the best of Made in Italy manufacturing. And he finds it in Barberino Tavarnelle.
The process: from Dior sketchbook to finished product

Reproduction of the Dior palace at Avenue Montaigne 30, Paris – in gilded metal. Argenplast production for Christian Dior, 2024.
The production process follows the typical chain of bespoke luxury. Dior provides original technical drawings – sketches of the star ferrule and Avenue Montaigne facade. Argenplast develops the prototype: CNC milling for the precision template, then the electroplating process with 24-karat gold plating on ultra-light galvanized resin.
The material – galvanized resin – is the same technology that Argenplast has been using for decades for its products: as light as plastic, as solid as metal, and able to withstand gold plating without sagging over time. It is the same technique with which Argenplast produced the Firenze 1946 decorations and ornaments in its collections. For Dior, it takes this expertise to its highest level.
The finished product is packaged in Dior boxes with alcantara lining and “Christian Dior – Paris – Made in Italy” plaque. Each piece is engraved with the Dior brand name and the statement of Italian origin – a declaration of provenance that is as valuable as the product itself.

Argenplast: the secret laboratory of Made in Italy.
Argenplast S.r.l. was founded in 1973, when Dario Moranduzzo acquired a Bologna-based plastics manufacturer. The motivation is strategic: to control the entire production chain, from raw material to finished product. It immediately became the group’s workshop and design office: this is where the machinery for new production lines is designed and built in-house.
Today Argenplast is the manufacturing heart of the Moranduzzo Group. Specializing in the processing of plastic and metal, it has the ability to make custom productions for brands that require a quality that no mass-produced factory can offer. The Dior order is not an isolated case: in 2022 Argenplast produced an exclusive collection of aluminum planters for Gucci, in collaboration with Metalfactory, for the flagship store in Zurich.
Why this matters to those seeking quality
The Dior order is the most eloquent evidence of Moranduzzo’s positioning in the Italian manufacturing scene. It is not a company that makes decorations. It is a company that knows how to transform any material into a quality object-and has been doing so for eighty years, with the same care with which Dario Moranduzzo produced the first galvanized icicles in 1947.
For those who buy a Moranduzzo tree, a Landi crib or a Firenze 1946 ornament, this story has a specific meaning: the Dior supplier treats its products with the same attention it gives to international luxury orders. Every piece that leaves Barberino Tavarnelle carries the same standard.
On December 15, 2025, Matteo Moranduzzo received the DocItaly International Award at Palazzo Valentini, Rome. The motivation specifically mentions, “the very high realistic quality of their creations, which has made them an ideal partner for set-ups of international luxury brands.” Same ceremony as Lino Banfi, Mario Lavezzi and Luigi Busà, Olympic champion.
